Fly Ventures is a Berlin-based venture capital firm specializing in early-stage investments in European startups, particularly those led by technical founders addressing complex challenges. Established in 2015 by Gabriel Matuschka and Fredrik Bergenlid, the firm focuses on sectors such as deep tech, enterprise software, and AI.

In December 2024, Fly Ventures closed its third fund at €80 million, aiming to support startups from inception through seed stages. The firm typically invests between €1 million and €4 million in rounds ranging from €2 million to €10 million.

Fly Ventures’ portfolio includes companies like 9fin, an AI-driven debt capital markets platform; Orbital Materials, which leverages AI to discover new materials; and Lakera, specializing in real-time security solutions for generative AI applications.

The firm’s investment strategy emphasizes partnering with technical founders to develop innovative solutions across various industries. Fly Ventures is supported by InnovFin Equity, with financial backing from the European Union under Horizon 2020 Financial Instruments and the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI).
