Greenlight Re Innovations, established in 2018, is the innovation unit of Greenlight Capital Re, Ltd., a specialist property and casualty reinsurer headquartered in the Cayman Islands. The unit focuses on supporting technology innovators in the (re)insurance sector by providing investment capital, risk capacity, and access to a broad insurance network.

In 2022, Greenlight Re Innovations received ‘in-principle’ approval from Lloyd’s to establish an insurtech-focused syndicate, Syndicate 3456, under the innovative “Syndicate-in-a-box” (SIAB) model. This syndicate commenced operations in the second quarter of 2022, enabling Greenlight Re to provide capacity to its growing portfolio of insurtechs.

Through these initiatives, Greenlight Re Innovations aims to foster innovation in the (re)insurance industry by partnering with and developing early-stage startups.
