Imec.xpand is an independent global venture capital fund based in Leuven, Belgium, focusing on transformative semiconductor and nanotechnology innovations. Established in 2017 as a collaborative effort with imec, the world-leading R&D and innovation hub in nanoelectronics, the fund invests in startups with the potential to be globally disruptive within their target domains.

In May 2024, Imec.xpand launched a new €300 million fund aimed at accelerating the growth of these technologies, targeting breakthrough areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented reality/virtual reality, photonics, and life sciences innovations like cell therapy and neuromodulation.
